Pregnancy & Ultrasounds

I have read research in the past prior to my pregnancy that leadmy husband and I to make the personal decision not to have elective ultrasounds. In fact I told my OBGYN that if she felt it was really medicallynecessary I would agree to have one done but otherwise I was optingout.  I went the entire pregnancy without an ultrasound until Iwas past due and they said it was important to check my fluidlevels.  Would I have loved to have a picture of my unbornchild?- Of Course, but what mattered most to me was keeping hisdevelopment as healthy as possible without the introduction ofultrasounds waves disturbing it. The article, "Routine Ultrasounds Not Proven Safe For Pregnancy," states the following possible side effects: preterm labor, miscarriage, low birth weight, poorer birth condition, perinatal death, dyslexia, inner ear damage, and delayed speechdevelopment.  Click on the link above for more information.
